B340A Circuit Lab
B340A Circuit Lab
Synopsis
In this course, you will explore electronic circuits and discover how voltage, current, and resistance interact through hands-on projects and Tinkercad simulations. This includes reading schematics, simulating designs, and building the circuits on a breadboard or stripboard.
Technical objective: Gain foundational understanding of electrical concepts, apply Ohm's Law, interpret schematics, simulate circuits in Tinkercad, construct circuits on a breadboard, and experimenting with circuit behaviour by adjusting parameters like resistance and capacitance.
Life skills objective: Working with electronic circuits, both hands-on and in simulation, fosters problem-solving, creativity, and attention to detail while teaching patience and persistence through debugging and troubleshooting.
Prerequisite
This course is suitable for learners in Lower and Upper Secondary with a basic command of English and computer skills.
You will require a computer (Windows or Mac) with a mouse and a pair of headphones.
Prerequisite course(s): None
Structure
You can complete the course at your own pace.
There are 3 parts to the course:
- Project A - Learn the foundations of electricity and circuits
- Project B - Build and simulate a 555 timer circuit in Tinkercad
