Welcome to Intro to SketchUp!
Synopsis
In this course, you will learn the basics of 3D modelling by creating your very first designs using SketchUp.
Technical objective: SketchUp is a powerful yet accessible 3D modelling tool widely used in architecture, engineering, and design. In this beginner-friendly course, you will use the SketchUp for Web platform to explore essential tools and techniques — from drawing and extruding shapes to designing a simple keychain and even a house. You’ll build foundational skills in digital modelling through hands-on projects that gradually increase in complexity.
Life skills objective: By working through 3D design challenges, you will develop spatial thinking, precision, and problem-solving. You'll also learn how to express ideas visually and iterate on them — fostering creativity and resilience as you prototype and refine your designs.
